Suoma and Raimo Yli-Suvanto are Villa Vinkkeli's August-September artists. The exhibition includes paintings, photographs and sculptures. The artist couple lives and works in Kuusamo, in the wilderness among forests and lakes, close to the Russian border.
They recognise the well-being effects of forests.

Suoma Yli-Suvanto monitors the resilience of nature. In her acrylic paintings, she deals with the issue through the elements of water and ice. She is concerned about the rapid melting of Arctic ice.

Raimo Yli-Suvanto's sculpture material is wood. His focus is on the conseguenses of mining and forest industries, extending even/especially to fragile nature reserves. The artist demands time out and new innovations to reduce the harm caused by the industries.

A side event of the exhibition is the Forest Symphony. The exhibition features several sound sculptures as well as musical instruments, percussion and effects equipment made from natural materials. The Forest Symphony is community art in which visitors form an orchestra and produce together a forested soundscape – the Forest Symphony
