Visit Villa Vinkkeli, Art Gallery and Photo Studio in Rovaniemi

Would you like to visit a Finnish home and get a touch of local culture during your stay in Lapland?

Villa Vinkkeli is a 2-story house just outside the town center in a beautiful rural area. It holds a photostudio of local photographer Kaisa Sirén. But also an art gallery with art works by local artist year round.  Kaisa works as a photojournalist in Lapland but during her free time wanders in the forests photographing the nature in her unique way.  Her impressionistic images have been widely in exhibitions in Finland and also permanently purchased to the new Design Hotel in Levi.

Upon arrival you will be greeted with an 8-minute photography show. The Seven colors of the Arctic face will give you a good cross section of the nature in Finnish Lapland during seven seasons. Coffee/tea and snacks are served during the show. After the slide show you have time to take a look at the exhibition in the 7 rooms of Villa Vinkkeli. The exhibitions vary during the seasons. You can also discuss photography issues and Photoshop techniques with Kaisa during your visit. And of course you will say hello to the mascot reindeer Sankari in the backyard, He is skilfully made of willow reed and decorated with chain of light. Why not take a selfie and send greetings home.

You can acquire unique photography souvenirs, art prints and photography books, as well as postcards from the gallery shop.
