ArtILO is a group of art hobbyists from Rovaniemi, founded in 2005. We met during art studies in the University of Lapland in 2004. We come from diverse backgrounds; From young to old and from very different careers, but we share the love and joy of making art. We meet up frequently to paint, and to share ideas and support eachother. We have held many group exhibitions, Diversity will be our 13th big group exhibition.

This spring we are having a group exhibition around the theme "Driversity". The ideas behind the exhibition are life, the many diverse sides of it, journeys of imagination, mood, color, light and shadow. Every member will depict these with their preferred materials and technique. Being unusual and unexpected is very welcome. The works by 11 artists include acrylic paintsins, watercolor, collages, woodwork, pastel and mixed media works. Most of the artwork is new and made for this exhibition.

The exhibition has been curated by artist Elina Hurtig.

Gallery owner Kaisa Sirén will be interviewing the artists of ArtILO about their artwork. We will talk about inspiration, work proces, and working alone or with other people. Come join ask and ask your questions from ArtILO too! There is no entry fee, but please sign up in advance to kuva@kaisasiren.fi. The event is in finnish.
