Hannu Hautala: Son of the Forest
1.2-20.2.2022
Hannu Hautala is the most legendary nature photographer in Finland. Now you have the amazing opportunity to see his nature photos from six decades.
Hannu Hautala is the protector of nature of the Kuusamo area, an author and the grand old man of Finnish nautre photography. His first nature book, Erämetsän Elämää (Life in the Primeval Forest) was published in 1968. The popularity of the book and the ensuing public financial support enabled him to pursue nature photography full time. He has lived in Kuusamo near his favourite photography locations since 1979.
Hautala is famous both in Finland and internationally, and he has received many awards.
Villa Vinkkeli will have a collection of photograhps from Hautala's career, and each photo has a little story of how it was taken.
